History & MissionPacific Western University is a private Post Secondary Non-profit Educational Institution founded as a Bible Institute and later upgraded to a university. The University offer academic programs in the fields of religion, business, social sciences, human development, education, and health sciences at the Bachelor, Master and Doctoral level to mature students who want to study at their own pace without the necessity of attending classes at a campus. Philosophy Pacific Western University is committed to offer programs for the growing number of adults who want to pursue academic studies without disrupting their careers of family lives. We believe that the student and not the institution should be at the center of the educational process. To this end, the Faculty work with students to adapt curricular guidelines to the student’s goal and previous life and work experience. Rather than testing for the amount of material memorized (and quickly forgotten), we ask students to develop course papers which are based on their pursuits of knowledge and understanding of concepts as integrated with their previously acquired knowledge. Instead of forced learning of material which is irrelevant the mature adult student. Pacific Western University students pursue leaning which is integral to their professional and personal needs and still meets the highest academic standards. The degree programs of Pacific Western University serve professional persons in many areas, as well as those who want to develop knowledge and skills in new areas, and who are prepared to pursue academic studies in a self-motivated and independent manner. Individualize study plans enable each student to fulfill specific objectives through a variety of learning experiences such as taped lectures, guided reading, practicums, conferences, workshops or seminars. The University is committed to growth, innovation, and quality of instruction to achieve and maintain its philosophy of education. HONORARY DEGREES Pacific Western University offers honorary degrees to eminent personalities all over the world. Interested candidates must apply through our representatives in their country or continents. Their Certificates shall be issued by Pacific Western University after the completion of the requirements. Our school keeps an interest in graduates to assist them in any way possible in their careers.
